Fluffy love

Okay so it's not so uncommon now but 5 years ago when I started cloth diapering it wasn't nearly as trendy. I started with cloth when Bug was 10 months old, I had some friends who used cloth on their babies and it seemed possible and I was so tired of tossing money away. I had a friend who made diapers so she made me my first stash. They were All-in-ones and very cute. I used them for Bug and a bit for Bobo. But I soon found the fluffy love. I was addicted to diapers. Seriously there should be a Cloth Diapers Anonymous group for moms. I know some people who have the fluff love REALLY bad. I have tried most types of  diapers, though I still have yet to brave flats. Honestly I just have no real desire to try them, they seem like too much work.

Now I have a serious problem when it comes to diapers. So many are just so cute and I think they would be even cuter on my baby's bum. I have a vast collections of diapers far more then will actually go one the little butt. I find different diapers are good for different things.
I love All in Ones or Pockets for the simplicity of use. I call these my babysitter diapers.  The ones that pretty much anyone can use and involves not much extra thinking. Pockets I have already stuffed so there is no thought process for others. I like certain inserts to go into certain diapers and it drive Darling Hubby nuts that I always do the diaper stuffing.

When my babies are brand new I love prefolds. You can just get that perfect fir that you can't always get with sized diapers. I use prefolds for quite awhile as my boys all seem to be pretty small in the bottom.

I have tried many different styles of diapers and there are so many more to try. I would love to sample more diapers and find what works as they change and grow. Yup I have a problem !!!

Being a little different

Yup I am odd. I was really awkward as a kid and a teenager, heck as an adult. I have those awful embarrassing school photos, that people laugh at for years. I usually figured out trends as they were trending away. I was not cool or popular at all, I wasn't even on the uncool side, I was just different.

I wore hand me down clothes, that were very far out of style, and not the looping back cool items.  I didn't really feel pretty most of my childhood and teenaged years. I went through a long time just being invisible, or at least feeling that way. I went though phases of being bullied but mostly I was just ignored. It was hard never having any friends till I was a bit older. Elementary years sucked.
I went through a phase where I really tried to be like everyone else just so I could fit in somewhere. The problem was I became so many "people", that I really was still no one. I had trouble with a lot of basic social skills. I had a lot of trouble breaking out and meeting new people. I became afraid to be me, due to the fact I felt no one like the real me. I still have a problems with this in my adult life. I thought making friends in school was hard, try the real world it sucks.

I have a hard time conforming to one particular thing. I really am a bit of a mish mash of different things that I have liked along the way. I feel strongly about a number of things but I'm usually open to listening to others thoughts. Hey I really can't judge your for your wrong choices, they are yours to make. Yes I do think I am right for my life. Maybe not yours but it works for us.

I'm a bit sassy, I'm opinionated and I can be loud about stuff with people I know. Though usually I keep to myself with people who I don't know very well. I can appear rather shy to people who don't know me, and have even been called snobby.

I wear toe shoes and clothes that are comfortable. I'm usually pretty plain and not very noticeable. I used to have a hard time with being different but I have decided to embrace myself. Freckles and all! I'm who I am and that's not really going to change.

Curried Sweet Potatoes

These are so simple and easy to make

5 Sweet Potatoes
2 tbsp of yellow curry
1 tsp Sea salt
2 Tbsp Coconut oil

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Then simply peel and dice your sweet potatoes how your family will eat them. I did rounds so they are mor like chips. Put them in a large bowl and cover with coconut oil, curry and sea salt and toss till fully coated.  Lay them on a baking tray. I use a Pampered Chef baking tray so if you are using metal I would suggest lining the tray with parchment paper. bake for about 45 minutes check them after 15 and turn them. Then repeat. to get good baking coverage. So yummy and smell divine!

Mommy Confessions ~~~~~~ Ignoring

Yup sometimes I intentionally ignore my kids.

I will keep doing it too! Now I'm not mean, I acknowledge their needs but they do need to learn to function on their own. Sometimes whatever they want, just can't be done the way they want or when they want. Sometimes I simply tell them that I am going to ignore them. It is usually because they are not listening to what I am saying and arguing with me when I am agreeing with them. This is the communication ignoring, I am still aware so it is not true ignoring but I refuse to respond, thus they think I am ignoring them.

I also have mentioned how I believe in free range living in some aspects with my children. Yes there will be time that passes that I am not aware of what my children are doing exactly. Though I do know whereabouts they should be. Particularly at home I can go an hour or more not knowing exactly what the older two boys are doing. Our house though is set up in a way that they have their safe places to play and they don't get into the things they shouldn't. Anything dangerous is also locked up or put up and out of reach.

For my sanity sometimes I need to ignore my children. I can't fuss over them every moment of everyday. I just can't it stresses me out and it's not fun for them. Honestly it works for us. I never ignore them completely. I am always open and willing to listen if they want to communicate with me in a suitable manner. I should mention that suitable is adjusted for the child's age. I don't expect lil Squish to tell me what he wants with words. Though hitting me is not the method of communication that is suitable.

Yup I ignore my kids, but they are cool with it and it works for us. I fully pay attention to them a lot more than I ignore them.
