There is no magic fix...

There seems to be a lot of misunderstandings about the Challenge. Far too many people are looking for a quick fix in this day and age. They want something quick and easy. This can be quick easy, it really can, 90 days is a short period of time, to change your lifestyle.

Yes there are people who lose weight, with little effort.  But if you are looking for that toned look you do need to exercise.  This is not a question or an option. If you want the sexy swimsuit body you will need to exercise, it will take work and effort. Honestly it might not happen in the 90 days but it can depending on your commitment and your body.

The 90 day Challenge is a vehicle for your goals. We provide the nutritional supplements to give your body nutrition to work optimally. This is the misunderstanding. I do not say the by using our product you are going to have amazing results. I'm saying by committing to change and using our products to complement your health change, you will see better results.

The 90 day Challenge products will help you, by giving your body optimal nutritional. With optimal nutrition your body will have more energy to burn fat and keep up with you. Your body needs furl to work and giving the best fuel will help your body function better.

Now I have seen the changes that the Challenge has brought into people's lives. I have seen people get healthier, feel better and use less medication. It does work, it is possible. Maybe it's not your thing but this is working for thousands of people. You don't have to join, but you don't have to slam people for what they are doing. Just because they are using something different, doesn't make them wrong. Also if they are actually following the system and changing their lives and living the Vi-Life, there will be real lasting changes. If you are just looking for a magic pill the will change you into a fitness model with no work, you may need to look for something else. I don't think that is really out there though.

Right from the lips of one of our co-founders

If you are tired of being sick and tried and willing to make a change I encourage you to look into how you can get healthier with the Challenge. It works, and is easy, but it take commitment and effort.

Play Time Freedom

I recently was at the local Aquarium in the kids area, and I saw these lovely info bubbles for caregivers. I was so thrilled to see them I thought they were just wonderful. Each one of them hold such useful information how how to allow children to learn.

First we have allowing your child to lead. This is so uncommon in our over scheduled society. Children are instructed so much in how they they should think feel and act. Very little are they actually allowed to explore and be in tune with their personal desires. You can keep your child safe while they are exploring, they don't have to have free rein over everything but they need to see the world beyond the constant instruction. They need to be allowed to think for themselves. They need to be allowed to use their imagination. They need to know that it okay to freely explore in a safe environment.

Allowing children to play and pretend how they see fit is a wonderful developmental stage. It allows them to let their mind wander and imagine. It allows them to go to another world where they get to make choices about how things are run. Watching a child emersed in pretend play can tell you so much about that child. At times it can tell you about there interactions with other and how they feel. Pretend Play can be a great way for children to work out things that are bothering them. Sometimes it can just be for fun, and they just want to play.
It is very important to allow child to pretend and be unobstructed in their play. They need to play freely. They need to allow their imaginations flow. Allowing a child to explore creativity, can really help them in the future. Creativity can really help breed success in so many areas of life, the opportunities become almost endless if you can just use a little creativity.

The benefits to letting a child just play are amazing. It can teach them how to entertain themselves. It really can cut down on the "I'm bored, do something with me" whine. Give them the tools for development  It doesn't have to be the latest, neatest stuff. Just simple costumes, sheets, even just a cardboard box. Encourage pretend play and creativity.

When your child come to you telling you about their imaginary world take a chance to be in the moment with your child. Play with them, but be careful you don't take over. Be an accessory to their play not the instructor. Ask them questions and engage the play. I know it can be tedious but you'll still have dishes to do when they are grown and out of the house. They wont be small forever.

The Swimsuit Battle

So most people shop for swimsuits at the beginning of summer. Not me. I have lost about 30 lbs now and I wanted a swimsuit for the end of summer beach season. Plus sales going on are pretty awesome too!

Now I don't approach swimsuit shopping with much confidence. Really I don't know a woman who does, but that is besides the point.

So here I am I a store the sells swimsuits. I look at the walls very carefully. There are too many options. I kinda want to walk out right then and there. I need to get a suit that fits though. Bobo is sitting under a rack. Yes I did this with all three kids and Darling Husband. This may have made a hard time a teeny bit harder, but it all worked out.

Okay so I'm looking at all these options remembering my super pale skin and stretch mark so I go for the tankini and bottoms and try on a one piece that looks like it might be slimming. It was cute. Then the sales lady spotted me. Not sure If I was grateful that it took her this long or annoyed. It is really neither here nor there. I'm thinking maybe I should go to the store that offers fittings???? But then they want to see me and that might be worse. Oh no what am I going to do, I need something decent to wear on the beach. Something I am willing to be seem in.

I sigh and grab the suits and follow her to the fitting room. She sees I have the monkey's in tow and asks if I would like the family room. Sure why not. Keeps them from running around the store. Clearly nit thinking Darling Hubby is fully capable of taking care of them, it is just my auto reaction to find a place to care for them.

So I have Bug and Bobo with me and Lil Sqush is on Darling Hubby's back, all should be good. Slip into two swimsuit should be nice and quick. I try the one piece first, it's black with some neat criss cross action going on with a bit of white. It was cute on the hanger. I need to stop thinking things that are cute on the hanger are going to be nearly as cute on me. I felt like a beach orca, and that is really disheartening when you have lost 30 lbs in the last 6 months. It was not cute or fun, more like a horror show where people evacuate the beach for fear of the monster. Yes not enjoying this experience. I go with the next top it is one of those bandeau tankinis with a little bottom. I think the colour was not me. I was done I was a giant army green monster this time. Side profile not to bad front not so friendly.  I feel defeated. I don't want to try anything more on. Another sign and lets get changed. So far the boys have been okay keeping the curtain closed. which is really nice. I know I shouldn't be thinking how nice they have been , that usually asks for trouble. Sure enough I have the bathing suit off and I'm standing there in my underwear and Bobo whips open the curtain. Fortunately there weren't many people around but really between the suits and everyone getting to see me in all my glory could this trip be much worse. Luckily no. We shopped a bit for dresses I left the mall with no bathing suit. I'll retuen again. Maybe I'll go to the store that fits you for swimsuits? I just don't have $100 to spend on something like that.. ugh

Why the boobies are RAD!!!

So in case you didn't know today winds up World Breastfeeding Week August 1-7th. You may have noticed a few people talking about it, you may not have.

I wanted to tell you a few reason why I think breastfeeding is RAD.  Some of these reasons are totally selfish, but great none the less.

Super Powers. Quite simply amazing stuff in breast milk. There are so many things breast milk can do because it is just awesome. Small things like pink eye and ear infection, to some say helping the healing  in sick kids. Who know but it does support little humans in major growth and development.

No Flow Some women are so extremely privileged that their cycles don't return while they are breastfeeding. This is pretty awesome thing to not have to worry about.

Natural Birth Control Those of us lucky mama's who do not ovulate while breastfeeding means no surprise babies. This can be a great thing if you are wanting to not go with hormonal birth control or use condoms. I for one Simply can not seem to get pregnant without my cycle.

Skinny Minnie Some extrememly lucky moms, of I am not one of, lose baby weight like crazy. I have watch mamas just have pounds drop with breastfeeding. Luck ladies!

Escape Clause I swear you can get out of almost anything with needing to feed the baby. Want to get away from the weird relative? Time to feed the baby Want to stop the awkward conversation? Time to feed the baby.  While I support and encourage opening breastfeeding anywhere any time, it can be a great escape.

Daddy Bonding Time There are so many ways daddy can bond with the baby. Like changing the diaper before he bring the baby for something to eat. Or bathing the baby while you have a nap. The feeding is mama's job there are many more for daddy to do. ( that mama doesn't want to to shhhhhh )

Extreme Boobage Okay pregnancy boobs are cool but nursing boobs are AMAZING! Seriously I went from a C/D to a  F when my milk showed up. Bound to make baby and daddy happy.

So rock the boobs. Embrace this stage of life, you get to nourish human beings. Support moms in their quest to breastfeed.

I breastfeed because I'm lazy

Yup if it involves little works I'm all over it. Really once we have figured out latch how much more effort does it take to breastfeed?
Get up to feed the baby in the middle of the night ? Nope roll over and breastfeed. This is where co-sleeping helps out
Prep bottles? Nope Always ready, always with me. I would never pack enough either I forget things
Clean and sanitize? Nope, it would really hurt to sanitize my breasts, ouch. It is always ready and perfect for baby.
Worry about running of formula? No. I never have to stress about having enough milk. We work on a supply and demand system. He wants it and I supply it!
Worry about the grocery budget? No extra cost of formula really save money. Bug had some when he was a baby and oh man that stuff is pricey. Also I don't eat that much more breastfeeding than I do not. Extra good snacks I should be having anyways to keep my body healthy.
Worry about weaning? Nope, he will stop we he is done. Extended breastfeeding has many advantages

I nurse my babies. I'm proud of my ability to nurse my babies, and for a long time. I nurse my babies until they self wean. Why? Also because I am lazy, I really have no desire to take something away from my child that brings them nourishment and comfort. Most of the time I love nursing my babies, even my toddlers. Nursing toddlers brings it's own level of amusement, but all in all it works really well and we enjoy our time together.

I don't understand how people can possibly insist it is easier to bottle feed, it sounds like way too much work. All the cleaning and prepping and buying. I love breastfeeding my children and I will continue to do it till they are done with that aspect of our relationship.

YEA BREASTFEEDING!!!!

This would be one of those interesting moments. Lil Squish wanted some milk with his cookie. He often nurses and works on a snack at the same time.

The Challenge and YOU

Have you ever wanted to do something, to change your situation? Not know how to start or where to go?  Are you needing a direction to go?

First figure out what you really want and break it down. What is it that you really want? Be specific! Vague goals are hard to meet.
I want to lose weight! Great how much, what are the inches you would like to lose? What do you look like at the end of you goal? Are you willing to work for your goal?
I want to be debt free! Great how much money do you need to do that? Can you possibly do that in your current J.O.B?  What are you willing to do to reach that goal?
I want to ......? Wonderful what needs to change to get there? Money, health, or is it time?

There is always something that needs to be changed. Change is good, change brings opportunity to look at life in a new light.

Now lets break it down. Why can't you change you situation? What is it that is holding you back? Really most things can change. Do you not have any time to do anything because you need money, so you are working all the time. This sounds like a declining cycle. Are you unhealthy and have low energy but you want to do something but you feel too crappy about yourself, so you sit there eating comfort junk just getting in worse shape?

Yes it is hard to change and it takes time to commit to that change. It sucks I know. Though if you truly need to change take control. Stop letting others decide your future. Take on the Challenge. You can do it! You can succeed. It starts with taking that step and believing in yourself.

Now some people don't want to make the change. That is their choice, but YOU CAN! You don't need their permission to live a better happier more financially free life.

Get Happy Get Healthy Get Freedom

Get started NOW

Oh and on a side note. It has been said that this may cause babies, no gaurentees. You know what the leading cause of babies is? SEX, yup, healthy happier people might just have more sex. So if you are looking for a little more lovin' the challenge could be for you ;)

Judge me not ~ Love me always

Have you ever been judged harshly for doing what you love? Doing something important? Something you believe in? All of us have been judged in one way or another. It saddens me the way we judge our fellow humans for the choices they make just because they are different from ours. I think what saddens me more is we so very often do it in the name of GOD. People who say they are Christians far too often are some of the most judgmental people I know.

I love this quote from President Dieter F. Uchtdorft of the First Presidency in the LDS Church.

This topic of judging others could actually be taught in a two-word sermon. When it comes to hating, gossiping, ignoring, ridiculing, holding grudges, or wanting to cause harm, please apply the following:

Stop it!
It’s that simple. We simply have to stop judging others and replace judgmental thoughts and feelings with a heart full of love for God and His children. God is our Father. We are His children. We are all brothers and sisters. I don’t know exactly how to articulate this point of not judging others with sufficient eloquence, passion, and persuasion to make it stick. I can quote scripture, I can try to expound doctrine, and I will even quote a bumper sticker I recently saw. It was attached to the back of a car whose driver appeared to be a little rough around the edges, but the words on the sticker taught an insightful lesson. It read, “Don’t judge me because I sin differently than you.”

That was from the April 2012 General Conference. I have found that this simple text seems to have resonated with many people not just of the LDS affiliation. It is simple and to the point. If you are Christian and say you follow the teaching of the Father and Son, then stop hating and judging.

We all have a place in our lives where we can improve. We all have places where we fail in our day to day lives. We are an imperfect people, there is no perfect person. Anyone who says differently is lying and that there is their sin.

Whatever it is that you don't agree with then don't engage in that activity for yourself. No one is making you gay, black, christian or whatever. That is the beauty of this world we live in. You have a choice! You get to make your choices every single day. You can choose what to eat, what to wear and what to believe. You even in the free world the the freedom to choose what you say. Sometimes what you say will hold consequences for you, because some one will judge you, whether they should or not. Right now even what you put on social media will have repercussions.

Simply if you claim to be of Christian values, then hold true Christian values. Jesus loved everyone, he hung out with the outcasts, he sat with the poor and wealthy alike. If you follow his teachings then truly follow them. Stop judging others because they hold different values than you.

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. ... Luke 16:27-36

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”   John 13:34-35

A few simple verses from the Bible where Christian get their teachings from. I don't care to hear about how there is scriptural verse against whatever sin you are against because first and foremost we are instructed to love. With the same unconditional love that given to just by Heavenly Father and Jesus. The sin is to be judged at the end of days. Now you can live your life with standards and if you chose to not have certain people in your life that is your choice but you still can love them and treat them with respect. I choose to keep people in my life who enrich my life. Their affiliations whether sexual or religious do not need to matter, it is the person I see. If they are good people who stand up and live their lives with integrity and decency, who they go to bed with or what God they believe in or don't is not how I chose my friends. I don't interview every person I meet before I decide if I will be nice to them. I try not to pass judgement on someone before I smile and say hello. I do fail at this sometimes but the point is I try to emulate the teachings that I believe in.

I am for LOVE ALWAYS!
I am for FREEDOM!

The BREAST of New York

Wow it seems like I keep coming across boobs in New York today. You know what I fully support it too!

Have you heard of Moira Johnston? She is a topless dancer in New York who bares her breasts during the day for activism. You can read the official story here on the Huffington Post. To sum it up, she wants women to know that they don't have to hide their breasts. It is legal in quite a few places actually for women to bare their breasts. I know where we live there is quite a controversy about it. There is a topless lady in our town, but she is not nearly perceived as well as Moira, might have to do that she is significantly older than New York's top less wonder.
Now some people really have an issue with topless women. I really don't understand the issue that so many have. They just simply are breasts, women just happen to have larger mammory glands therefor generally larger breast then men.  Most of the reason is the high sexualization on breasts. Women, especially their breast, are seen as sexual objects for a mans pleasure. Not really cool with that line of thinking. So many womens get all up in arms about " My Body My Choice" but still keep stigma going. Seriously people they are just boobs. They are used to feed and nourish our young, that really is their primary function. The fun is secondary. Which nicely leads into the next story I keep seeing.

Have you heard about the new breastfeeding stir in New York Hospitals? Mayor Bloomberg has gone breastfeeding friendly, but it is with opposition. You can read the actual press release here. I really applaud Mayor Bloomberg for his actions. I do believe that the formula advertising should be taken out of the hospitals. I don't believe in goodie bags of formula given to breastfeeding moms. It sets them up for failure. How do I think it sets them up for failure? When you have something else that you can feed your baby when you are exhausted and little support most will turn to the formula. Or just you need a few minutes so Daddy can feed the baby. Now there are so many things that other people can do for you and to help you with breastfeeding but giving you formula is not helping. It is not helping a mom when she says she is having troubles to just hand her a bottle of formula.
The formula companies are ruthless with their advertising, and I don't agree with it. I fully support Mayor Bloomberg's stance on we need to focus on breastfeeding it is what is designed for babies. Breast is what is best for them, breast is normal.

So there you have it New York and their concerns about breast, bare them and share them!
