We all need to just slow down and let them be children... to let them lead instead of us always doing the leading.Paulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04364161939673470708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314126508756791961.post-39972073795685995172012-08-15T11:44:44.860-07:002012-08-15T11:44:44.860-07:00Slow summer days are such fun aren't they? All four of my girls spent the majority of their childhood doing imagination play.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17886093879851123261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314126508756791961.post-42499076832660307482012-08-15T11:33:14.036-07:002012-08-15T11:33:14.036-07:00Very cool that they had these prompts for adults. ...Very cool that they had these prompts for adults. I always had problems with pretend play as a kid - dolls bored me. It's refreshing! Encouraging children's creativity instead of stilting it will hopefully help them grow up believing they can do anything and are appreciated for it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314126508756791961.post-66376828005871914242012-08-15T11:16:28.598-07:002012-08-15T11:16:28.598-07:00I remember being bored as a child, but I remember ...I remember being bored as a child, but I remember happily occupying myself when that happened...or going out to find friends to play with. Today that's not always the case (with kids, I think many times because they are over-reliant on technology). I love that you're encouraging us to enjoy the little ones when they're little. Everyone SAYS that, but I've got two grown, one teen, and one toddler...so I just KNOW that what you are saying is true. These precious years are gone in a flash.mail4roseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17850985344834209198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314126508756791961.post-70943601047702855992012-08-15T10:49:05.085-07:002012-08-15T10:49:05.085-07:00I really enjoyed this post, especially with my kid...I really enjoyed this post, especially with my kids having just gone back to school this week. It's so very true that education in this country to so scheduled and rigid in many ways that children often don't get the chance to explore new topics on their own and develop their own thoughts and ideas about it. Thanks you for this post. Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01653598793552618042noreply@blogger.com
